World Championship Snowmobile Hill Climb
Since 1975, the Jackson Hole Snow Devils has hosted the World Championship Hill Climb at the Snow King Mountain Resort. Each year, between ten to fifteen thousand spectators come to Jackson Hole to see who will be crowned “King of the Hill”.
The race starts at the bottom of the Snow King Mountain Resort and climbs 1,574 vertical feet thru a gated course. Over 300 racers are separated into different classes depending on engine size. The racers are then timed to see who can make it to the top of Snow King the quickest. This is an awesome “people watching” event as you get spectators from all over the world who range from serious motor heads to spectators just looking to have a good time.
The Jackson Hole Travel and Tourism Board helps sponsor the event that is estimated to bring anywhere between three to five million dollars to the valley each year. Since 2001, the Jackson Hole Snow Devils have donated over $440,000 to various charities in Jackson Hole and the surrounding areas including the Jackson Hole Oncology Room, Make a Wish Foundation, Shriners Hospital for Children in Salt Lake City and other local scholarships.
